The Dumbest Thing I’ve Done

I did something last fall that I don’t think I’ve done in over 10 years.

I took a break.

I didn’t quit my day job, give up time with family, or stop spending time with friends, family, or my church.

I stepped back from social media, scheduled fewer events, and focused on my health (especially quality sleep!). I stopped marketing my book, which is the stupidest thing I could have done from a business standpoint.

This goes against our American culture that screams “Be more! Do more! Achieve more!”

God commanded his children to take a Sabbath. Farmers rotate crops to recover nutrients. Many plants go dormant for seasons.

Everything about nature supports the idea of resting, and yet…it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve done.

I hope you haven’t forgotten about me! I’m baaaack and ready to help YOU achieve the abundant life Jesus wants for each of us. Be on the lookout for more newsletters and posts. I’m excited to write about community, rest, and the Psalm I’ve been looking at with new eyes during this season.

He truly does restore our souls.

All My Love,
Kim
